<Parasite>

- Through the subtlety of the movie.

Take the scene above as an example. A friend offers a tutor job opportunity to the protagonist, while he has to pretend to be a college graduate student. At this time, a green bus passed away. This subtlety of background is designed by purpose.  The green bus symbolizes the transformation of diathetic society to the crime world.

- Revelation of the objects track association

The director utilizes some marked objects to attract the audience's attention, making them wonder about the track of both objects and storyline.

For instance, the green bus echoes with the soju bottle though the same color.

- Different culture is elusive and draw the boundary.

At the beginning of the parasite, the friend gave protagonist's family a stone as a gift. In Korean culture, it is the symbol of wealth, implying the theme of the story. However, for the audience unfamiliar with that may have some confusion.

"Franchise"

<Six feet under>

In the <Six feet under>, the beginning of each episode is the death of a person. The content of the series is about the things that happened after the man died. The dead man is the "franchise" in the story. It basically set the undertone of the story and build a narrative structure, making audiences have more sense of immersion.

Materials

- Paprika

This clip is about the gradually merge with reality. The director Kon Satoshi use a lot of metaphor in this scene It seems to describe the absurdity of dreams, however, it conveys the worries and condemnation of social status. In the screenshots below, we can see that white-collar workers commit suicide in groups with smiles, reflecting the great pressure in social survival; people transform to the statues of wealth, commodities and houses, representing consumerism and people's material desire. Besides that, teenager's sexual trades, unhealthy political competition, the depravity and defilement of the god and faith, all telling the distortion of society.

- The last black man in the San Francisco

In the clip, the narrator told us the black community will be replaced, and two main characters go back to their childhood house though the skiting board. In the first screenshot, the left side and the right side of the picture have a clear contrast. One side is rebuilding, and one side remains the same, which echoes the narration.

Using slow-motion (Maybe I think), the lens amplifies the happiness of black communities, and make a contrast with the indifference and scrutiny of new communities.

In the end, a white man tried to get on the skiting board and go with them. I think this is consistent with what the narrator said, using the analogy method.

- Thomas Crown Affair

Though the grid format of the screen layout and the alternation of music, the clip builds the nervous atmosphere of the heist film. The screen translation also cooperates with the “GO” lines.

- Goodfellas

1. Copacabana

This scene uses a long take shot approach to let audiences have an immersive experience, feeling like they are in the movie scenes and watching the action of protagonist.

2. Layla scene: Montage (include in the next meterial)

- 10 Best Montage

The video told us 10 functions of Montage in movies, they are:

1. Chop a big story up, and tell it fast. (e.g. Goodfellas Layla scene)

2. Joke deliver.

3. Training montage. Make a gradual change in far more dramatic.

4. Take a half dozen different storyline, weave them together, and make it thematically complex when they separate

5. Reveal hidden similarities and differences by virtual some old compare and contrast

6. Mobilize the audience's imagination, using several moments to evoke its entirety.

7. Create a picture greater than the sum of the parts.

8. Turn off the noise and appreciate the small moments.

9. Associate with human consciousness. (e.g drug, medical addiction, etc.)

10. Contract and make the connection between different scenes.

- Matrix

The most famous scene of Matrix.

Using special effects and slow-motion, to create the tension of fright.
